Sure, go ahead and use it, shouldn't hurt anything.

thanks guys, should i use motorflush to drain the old oil too just in case? im also draining the oil pan and changing the oil pan gasket (hence the oil change) and i was wondering if i needed extra oil too, or should 4 quarts be enough?

if you are dropping off the oil pan, you'll need more than 4 quarts.

5w is the thickness and the 50 is burn off limit but I was also under the assumption that if you switch to syn oil after a lot of miles it will mess up your seals in the motor and cause problems

you couldn't be more wrong

5 is the rating of viscosity at winter/cold temperture/start up

50 is the regular/running temp.

5w50? did you get that for your diesel truck?

I would drop all the juice and refill it up with proper rating

never use motor flush, it do more damage then good most of the time, honda do not recommend using cleaning agents because it might damage the seal.

dropping the pan or now, you are draining the same amount of oil anyway, if you use 4.5 quart for regular oil change, you will need a tad more but not a whole lot.
