HELP!!! leaking oil or burning oil???
changed my oil this mornin' and notice there was a bunch of oil residue around and above the oil pan lip. I've also notice I've been goin' through about 1 quart every 1000 miles. this is a B18C1 with approx 50,000 miles. could it be burnin' oil already? or is it a leaking oil pan gasket??? HELP!!! Thanks in advance!

Re: (superrally)
why dont you try taking the oil pan off, examine the oil pan for leaks or cracks near the top. if there's cracks, buy a new one and install it, and if not, then just put a NEW gasket on and see what happens.

are there any oil drip marks in your driveway?
If not then I'd say it's probobly burning it... I'd let my car idle in one spot (making sure the ground was clean first) and check for any drips...
also you could check your plugs... if it's burning oil chances are those are good and black/brown... possibly even wet with oil... check'em.
Oh and fyi a car with 10 miles can burn oil... if the rings aren't seated properly or a seal is not good it can burn oil. I know someone who got a car that burned oil from the factory... they replaced the engine...
