help my 92 eg idles at 300 rpm, sometimes it shoots up to 900 and sometimes 600, it is not accurate, i also noticed wen i turn on my lights it will shoot down and come bac up in a few seconds, wut can it be????

Could be an alternator/battery problem, could be a grounding issue, could be your IACV ....

 

if you havn't checked your iacv to see if it's clogged you should do that. it's pretty easy to clean and then reset the idle speed

 

new at this, wut is an iacv and how do i go about in clogging it??

 

iacv= idle air control valve. mounted on the manifold near the throttle body, has two 12mm bolts holding it on, two small diameter coolant hoses on the bottom, and a two pin connector. you may be able to clean it without taking the hoses loose, but the bolts do need to come off. when you take it off it'll have two round ports side by side, one or both will have a wire mesh screen over it. spray it well with brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner. if you need to give it a scrub with an old toothbrush to get the black build-up off. then make sure the rubber o-ring is in place on the iacv when you put it back on and get the bolts good and tight so you don't get leaks

 

oh... and resetting the idle... i don't know what your idle speed should be off the top of my head, but setting it involves hooking up a digital tachometer, (or just being really good and knowing if it sounds right-not that i do...) and letting the motor warm up to regular opp. temp. while it's idling unplug the two pin conn. on the iacv, for only a few seconds so you don't get a CEL. while it's unhooked the idle should be about 450, again not sure exactly about the numbers. but the engine shouldn't cut off. then to adjust if it's too high or too low turn the idle screw on the throttle body 1/4 turn at a time, clockwise to lower, ccw to raise. it's a flathead and it may have grey RTV over it.
