Yea or nay on the Ipod kit they sell @ the dealer?
Just wondering if anyone had one installed. Is it worth the $169.00?
Can you control the ipod from the factory unit once installed?

x2 - I have enjoyed the MP3 cd's more than having an ipod in my car. If you already have an ipod, you can probably justify the costs.

Personally I dont think its worth it ... I opted to spend 7 bucks on a aux cord and just control the music through the ipod itself. Really the only "advantage" in getting the Honda music link is that you can use the stock headunit to control the tracks/artists. i sell them all day long and get nothing but complaints about them.
I think I will stick with the MP3 cds.
Or maybe get an FM adapter (but everyone that I know that bought those say they sound like crap)
Thank y'all for the info.

By chance, would I need to pull apart the dash to connect the cable?
There is no outlet to plug into on the dash.

the only thing that the iPod link provides (for iPod owners) is convenience, other than that.. personally I would just hook the iPod up to the audio jack and control it from the iPod
MP3 Cds work great, the only downside is your limited to how many songs you can put on there
iPod nano 8GB > 700MB CD

Anyone who says having an ipod in the car is
... may I ask where you buy your drugs?
Having an ipod in the car is the best solution. CDs of any kind are a waste. The ipod link however is a pos from what I hear. Just use the aux connection and you're set.

it's as big as the biggest card you can find and I'm sure it's not as big as the ipods or other mp3 players on the market.

How easy is it to get to the aux connection? Don't forget I have an LX. Do I have to get behind the dash to get there? It is not out front like many new cars out there today. I really don't want to tear out the dash just to have my ipod connected
Dont get the Ipod kit...Worked great for a week then when I went to change a track it wouldnt let me...Well the whole thing froze. Got home, checked my ipod...it was frozen...Rebooted it...made
terrible terrible noises...wouldnt work. But finally started working today. So I plugged it back in, and nothing would work. Called the dealer. They said theres no fix for it and I have to wait for one to be ordered...
I loved it when it was working...I HATE cds...

I dunno if it's a compact flash slot then you can use the new Micro Drive Technology... Which are currently 8-10 gigabytes of information (music) and the new ones coming in 2007 will hold 20 gigs of information from Hitachi...
Aux or CF FTW...

With the 2007 civics you get the aux plug just below the DC plug. So you only need to go buy a cable at any electronic store and you're done. I do have one myself and to be sure i'd have the most precise sound, I bought a Monster cable. 1 feet long that fits perfectly.

I use my ipod sometimes i also bought the aux cable from radio shack but i only paid $3 i also have the oem navi. I still prefer cd quality on all of my favorite artist's i bump are on a cd the ipod quality is muffled down to an extent. Its also a pain to keep reaching down to the change the songs on the ipod unless you make a massive playlist.
