Default spoon street exhaust - smaller than stock itr muffler?

just got this used spoon street muffler, supposedly came from a db8 itr. i measured the inlet piping and it was only 48.5 mm, way smaller than the 54mm of the itr muffler. is the spoon piping really that small? or did i get the civic version of the spoon muffler?

Its possible its not for a DB8 but for a civic coupe/sedan. A freind of mine is after taking a spoon street exhaust of a JDM EK4 and the piping is hella narrow for some reason, he had the standard exhuast and b-pipe and it looks to be slightly wider but he didnt measure to see if it was. Either way i wouldnt be putting that exhuast on my car as it would strangle the hell out of the engine.

yeah it looks quite restrictive. but this particular muffler came in with a shipment of type r engines, so i think it really is from a type r. can anyone confirm that the itr spoon street muffler has a 48.5mm inlet piping?

thats looks like a civic coupe exhaust.. i put an itr muffler on my 99 si and had to extend the tip to make it fit right and it looks very similar to the length i had to make mine.. here is a pic before and after.

yes.. the axleback bolted up perfect and actually the hangers were in the correct spots.. but the tip was like 6 inches too short so that all i had to do.. sounded realy good too with no cat and apexi midpipe

...PICS ABOVE ARE JUST WHEN THE TIP WAS TACHED IN PLACE NOT THE FINISH PRODUCT...

Gram Lights positioned strategically so everyone could see them....nice

The DB8 is 5.7inches longer than the DC2...that extended pipe on the spoon street muffler looks to be longer than 5" (not including the tail pipe piece on the end)

but that looks like someone extended that themselves.. the metals are close but def not the same.. i think spoon would have done a nicer job. but to me thats been extended to fit a civic coupe.. just my opinion though..

it hasn't been extended, i've looked at the welds and they appear original. a db8 spoon street muffler is pretty rare so i doubt if any one here has actually seen one. i measured the spoon against my itr dc2 muffler and it's longer by less than 5 inches

yea but the point i was trying to make is that the tip should all be one peice and only welded at the muffler.. this is welded at the muffler and then right at where the actual tip is about to start.. like if you look at say a apexi WS2 the entire tip is one peice.. not welded in sections like that one.. i dont know much about this muffler but thats all i was basing my opinion on..

so with that said.. i would expect a company like spoon to come out with a realy clean muffler and not a tip welded in 2 peices.. doesnt make much since for a WS2 to have a lot cleaner/nicer looking muffler than spoon
