WHY IS MY CAR RUNNING LIKE SHIT?
I have a 97 CIvic hatchback cx with a 01 gs-r engine. The car is stock only has clutch, flywheel and exhaust, Im running a chiped obd1 ecu, THe only thing that is not wired up is the IABS, When i fire it up it constaly searches for an idol and the idol air control valve is fine not to mention cylinders one and two just dont fire, it was leaking oil through the valver cover seals so i replaced them and cleaned all the spark plugs but 1 and 2 cylinders still do not fire and still hunts for an idol. I have no idea why a stock engine is being such a pain so i am open to any advice. thank you.

firing order, 1-3-4-2. now mister noobie that doesnt know how to use this site, did you doa compression test? how about a leakdown? do you know what those tests are?
also, a "chipped" ecu is gonna make the car run like crap too. if you dont know how to diagnose problems, you have no buisness putting a motor in your car.
now, go out in your garage and get dirty, noob

Excuse me friend, this forum is designed to help (not bash) on each other. Noob or not. Theres a search feature and yes we have tried using it. But apparently a chipped ECU will "make my car run like crap." Can i ask why 280 n/a whp on an ls vtec is possible then on engine management that will cause this? Thanks if you can clear that up for me.
Im the mechanic for the project stated in the main thread and would like to clarify some issues at hand if i may without being bashed, hated, flamed or whatever else.
The problem we are running into most likely is wiring based, because the motor came from a 2001 or OBDIIb platform and it is in a 97 chassis or OBDII. Since there are no types of adapters and we are on a limited budget, running an OBDI ecu is the way to go. Ive looked into wiring for the IACV between all the years and have repinned everything accordingly. Problem fixed...however, then i began to address the problem of the misfiring cylinders.
The spark plug tube seals were leaky and required replacing, the plugs had some liquid oil and i wire brushed them both clean. Still they misfire...im going to try two new plugs in a moment, however after replacing the seals, IDLE problems begin again.
Its just one thing after another and as it sits right now everything is wired EXCEPT for the IAB. No vacuum leaks, compression is better than anything ive seen on a factory engine I believe it was at between 205-210 across all (although i could be mistaken), Ive manually played with the IAB at idle just in case this might have a role in the problems but nothing. Its very strange.
IF anybody has some thoughts please post back as its appreciated, but i suppose i will go be a "noob" and get dirty in my garage now.

They have different plugs, so you can't really mix them up, If that is what you're trying to say.
