96-00 JDM Type S Preludes. That would have been 97-01 here in the states. Cam profiles are slighlty higher performance.
I recomend aftermarket over the Type S due to the fact I have read that there could be clearance issues in a standard P13 head.

the clearance issues are not very different that any other after market cam
you just have to upgrade your valvetrain like you would with any other cam......and make sure the valvespring seats lower on the exhaust side so that the cam doesn't interfere with the rockers......
just make sure whoever installs them checks properly for clearance before they are done and maybe machine the rockers a bit

yeah i was interested in them a while back and did a lot of searching through all the threads....i've got a folder of about 6-7 threads saved under my favorites labeled "type s cams"........if anyone wants the threads with the important info without have to dig through the usless ones....pm me
that was basically what i came up with.......a lot of the problems came from people using them without upgrading the valvetrain.....or the install being done wrong because the installer figured they were an oem part and didn't get the clearance right

You would be okay with a JDM H22, correct?

i think the valve guide is still lower in the type-s than the regular jdm h22, but i could be wrong
i think if you are strapped for cash you can get away with just installing inner springs since those are the ones that need the height adjusted
oh and in response to the origional question what good are they....here is a comparison i found
Type S
Int- 309 mid Int- 230 mid Int- 469 mid
Exh-315 mid Exh-230 mid Exh-438 mid
Crower stage 2's.
Int- 311 mid Int- 255 mid Int- 468 mid
Exh-308 mid Exh-248 mid Exh-467 mid
max lift is actually higher than crower stage 2
