Default B series tranny question

I have a 72 mini cooper that I am going to put and ls vtec conversion in. I need a hydro tranny and I wanted to know if I can use any b-series tranny.
I have a b18a block with a early b16 head running with a pr3 ecu. So can I use a 99 b18c hydro tranny with this ecu and have all of the electrical work properly? i.e. VSS and any other sensor that the ecu needs from the tranny?

If not can someone recommend a hydro tranny that will work with my setup using that ecu.
