Default Removing the Resonator?

I'm thinking of removing the resonator from the stock intake rather than go down the AEM/Icebox road. Is it difficult to remove? Could somebody post pics and a how-to?

I guess I should ask is it even worth it? I am using a Comptech filter at the moment...

Is it difficult to remove?
no... 15 min. max

Could somebody post pics and a how-to?
-jack front end up
-remove pass. tire
-remove front spash tray
-remove the front 1/2 of the fender liner
-remove 3-10mm bolts holding the resonator on (one is tricky to get it I think)
-pull till it comes free
-re-install tray/tire

Hot air is bad... I guess
But the throttle body has coolant running thru it to maintain constant temps... so the engine bay heat may not be 'that' bad.

The filter will get need cleaning sooner... but that is why you got that filter (cleanable).

The intake noise is ~1/3 of the way between stock and AEM... but about the same as a ICE B0X.

I lot cheaper than the AEM/ICE B0X.. so that is why I did it.

Wow! You have quite a lot of posts for a newbie.
It's very easy. Just remove the inner wheel fender.....
I did it even without removing the wheel!! Just lift the car a bit higher....

For cold air, just put a piece of dryer hose next to the radiator to guide air to the airbox!!

I did it without removing the wheel, OR jacking the car up. It took like 45 minutes, but... I didn't break anything either!

Depends on what you mean by newbie. I'm smart enough to know when I need to ask questions...

Flux, I'm in Austin as well. If you feel like driving to the SW part of town I'd be more than happy to give you a hand/supervise. Hit me up via email and we can set up a time if you'd like. Maybe we can get Zeus to come by as well and make it a little mini-meet

Scott, thanks for the offer, very cool.

I think I will give removing the resonator a go this weekend since it seems pretty easy - but I would love to take you up on your offer for some other installs in the future - like a Header.

I'm always willing to learn if there is somebody willing to teach...

Jonathan,

No problem. Hmm, header install??? I think I've done a couple of those before, along with a few other misc part swapping. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

Also, when you get around to picking up that Spoon header let me know, I may be able to point in the direction of a local/less expensive source for it.

For the integras there is no need to take off the front bumper.
