Default universal muffler suggestions????

want an exhaust soon for my 91 SEDAN, but not sure on what to get. don't really have the money for a ss cat-back. what kind of universal muffler does everybody recommend???
i don't really want a canister style, i want an oval design, i was thinking an ES, does anybody have the dimensions of an ES, how long is it???
not to sound too retarded but...i don't want to spend the money and not hear anything. what muffs have a good tone to them? it's a stock DX motor for now so it won't have much flow....
thanks...oh and pics are cool...

if u want cheap performance do the mpfi conversion... for real its real power and then do an exhaust i just did a new exhausrt a very quiet sleeper exhaust...i took piping from teh 93 teggy i have sitting smashed up and the rear section from the 91 si a friend gave me and now i have 2.5 inch piping all the way to the muffler and teh dual tips like the si wich flows alot bettter than my shitty standard piping did... im not into loud exhausts any more ull get sick of it man try driving 3 hours witch rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr in ur ear trying to talk to someone asked marked001 he road in my car and we couldnt even talk unles we shouted if u do get something get a greddy and get it legnthend or wutever they are quiet and loud if u get on it...

I hate the loud noise, I would just get a muffler shop to run bigger piping to a factory muffler, there is a place where I live that will do it for $80.. Or you could opt. for the fart pipe... You will loss torque...

And YES, do the MPFI swap, gobbs of power there !!! I just did it a few days ago, WOW, what a difference !!! 15.1 with DPFI, I can't wait to see what it will do with MPFI !!!

15.1 with a dpfi and what done to it?!?!?!?!?!...that's kinda far fetched...maybe a 16.1, with MANY bolt-ons...not trying to dog on ya, but dpfi runs like ****

wierd, i had that EXACT setup on my old hatch. it was a 90 DX that i switched to mpfi before the ZC (btw...didn't notice a real big diff. in power between the ZC and the mpfi 1.5L...). then i got an Si muffler off a CRX and that was welded to 2.25" piping. mine sounded like **** because i ran a test pipe and flowed like **** too but it looked nice and stock . and i know what yelling in the car is like...at times i took teh Si muffler off and just ran the piping all the way back, and when you run piping, it's louder than just open header. so i don't want **** too similar to my last car, i want a nice sounding/looking exhaust. at this point i really don't care about performance...but having said that...maybe it's a waste of money.....

yeah but his is ported i think and tuned. Dont flame him it is sweet car. he proves you dont need motor swaps.....

As for the exhaust qu's if you cant do it yourself or have enough money to buy a good one. Then practice driving cause youll be faster then if you had an exhaust
