I happen to have a micropolished Y8 crank and crank-less Z6 block, I was wondering if anyone knows of issues with this combo? I would use the proper Y8 crank pulley, but I guess my main concern is if there may be some issue with the oil pump. I know the general concensus is that the Z6 oil pump has less issues than the Y8 pump, which is another reason I want to use this combo rather than hunt for a nice Z6 crank and spend more time/money on getting it micropolished.
I am 99% sure that there will be no issues. Use the z6 pulley as it's timing marks are at 16BTDC whereas the y8's is 12BTDC

So since the crank is micropolished already, do you think it wise for me (or a motor builder) to try camfering the holes after the fact? At one of my jobs we have all sorts of methods for smoothing edges, so I wouldn't assume I'd need it polished again. I may just rip apart the bad Z6 block my other car came with and compair the undamaged part of the crank oiling holes to the Y8 crank I have.
Anyways, thanks for the info. Its been a shitty 2 weeks (crashed one car, blew up another
), so every bit helps.
