Default 200whp

im very curious as to how many people on here came very close to 200whp without touching head/block internals and strictly bolt ons?

this is my plan for the upcoming winter and i think it can be done with very good and expensive mods.

I've heard of people making low-high 190whp on stock camshafts, valvetrain, and bottom end.

This was the list I had composed:

* = Already Performed

-Import Builders Ported Type-R IM
-RPM Services 72-70mm TB
-RC Engineering 310cc Injectors
-TODA Header*
-Omni-Power Testpipe*
-DC Sports Exhaust*
-AEM 3" CAI*
-Hondata S200
-Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
-TODA 0.7mm Headgasket
-ARP Head Studs

If you're looking for the best Intake possible, the research I've done it shows that Mugen is the best. Second best is a 3" pipe with a velocity stack.

I'm going to try and hit mid 190whp with those modifications listed above. My engine's pretty healthy, so we'll see how she does.

Good luck.

Strictly bolt ons....

Supercharger and some other goodies. That'll take it over 200 easy.

That's what I'm hoping for... I'll be VERY happy if I get 194whp or 195whp. But I'll be happy with 190whp.

so people hit 190-195 dynojet. doesnt that equal 200-+ dynapack?

i already have a parts list consisting of intake manifold, intake manifold gaskets, throttle body, 3" ghetto magic stick, and header

my parts list are all high end, around $2500 total so im expecting to hit atleast 190whp. if i can hit 200, that would make me mad jdm. lol

ill update you guys how my build goes.

Are you including cams, valvesprings and retainers, and superchargers and turbo setups in the bolt-on category.
Go ahead and spend 4k on bolt-ons.
It's the ricer thing to do.

Here are two ITRs that sort of set the trend back in the "HyTech vs SMSP" days.

George Knighton's SMSP-SgT-DonF powered ITR - 191.6 whp/138.2 tq
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=480486

Austin Getty's Hytech-Mugen powered ITR - 193.7 whp/138.6 tq
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=705272
*car mods are listed lower in the thread

I made 197whp tuned with only I/H/E

Made 227whp tuned with STOCK USDM ITR block.

This is a while back (over 2 years), you can search for my dyno plots/mods

i know a stock B18c5 pushes out about 160-170 range to the wheels. i dont think u can actually push out another 20whp with just some bolt ons without touching block or head internally.

You won't hit 190whp with the mods that you have listed unless the dyno reads really high.

I have sat in Austins car at Buttonwillow and have seen his car dyno in person and I haven't seen such a lightly modified ITR pull even close to his numbers.

I have 180whp on the same dyno that Austin dynoed on and tuned by the same person.

My mods are:

Mugen intake 98-spec w/ Mugen filter
Lovefab Custom Big Tube Header
2.5" SMS Testpipe
2.5" straight through T1R exhaust
Siemen Dekas 310cc
Hondata S200

I'm going to re-dyno after I clean the filter, get my baffled pan on, and buy a hytech header (lovefab was too big), and get some 290 cc injectors.

I should have clarified...I meant the dyno reads high as expletive.
Don't come on honda-tech then.
Spread mis-information.

And you have what to say about me hitting damn near 200 WHP with just intake, header and exhaust. Well, also a Hondata IM gasket if you want to count that.

Every dyno reads differently.
It's a tool to track changes, not a measuring stick for your johnson or your motor, Jr.
