ls/vtec using ctr intake cam....
i was curious as to the power gains running a ctr intake cam and a stock b16a2 exhaust cam. i found one for not a bad price and i'm wondering if it would be a noticable gain. i'm gonna be running 11.2:1 comp, p&p head, but stock tb and i.m. thumbup or save money for something better? thanks
what do itr's usually run for price(new ones)? do they come w/retainers and locks?

i will be using itr outers, portflow inners and ti retainers on my b20vtec w/ itr cams go to site for prices http://www.portflow.com/frame.htm. tom is the guy i talked to, and seemed like a good guy. i would buy from him again in a heartbeat.

the reason i went with different v springs period is because i am using 1g b16 head, 11 years old and i felt and was told that they might be a little tired. i am using itr outers because i am using itr cams and felt that they would be plenty. i am using portflow inners for a little extra support at 8800, i have heard good things, and they were one of the march specials from jdmhondaparts.com
thanks jeff, thats the same reason i wanted to upgrade mine as well... 1st gen head. i'm probably gonna stick to a redline of 8000, so the itr springs should be ok i think. thanks for the info
if you have no plans at all of going with a bigger cam and higher revlimit. THe ITR stuff will do. But if you do want to upgrade later on, on the cams, I'd upgrade the valvetrain to portflow, crower, JUN,. etc.

With the CTR cam you could stilll use stock springs. Unless you plan on redlining alot you dont really need to change springs. I personally and I'm sure most other people WILL change them with an addition of new cam. However it isnt truely needed unless you rev high. I'd personally go with OEM Type R springs and ferrera retainers.
