broken lug question
The only way is to take the spindal off and press the hub out and replace the stud that broke. So ya the hub has to come out, not a fun job if you don`t have a press and most shops will charge and hour or so.
You should be able to remove the hub on the rears and get a stud and go for it.
You will have to hammer out the rest of the stud and then really torque on the new one to get it to seat.
I just took mine to a tire shop and had them do it on the car. My friend works there so I got a good deal.

if it is the rear
then remove the disc and caliper assy.
remove the dust cover and 32mm spindle nut
the hub should slide off and hammer away.

here is a write up on how to do it. you dont have to take it to a shop. get a hammer and knock it out. they your probably going to need a stud puller which shouldnt cost too much. and wa la.

ya the hub needs to come off unless u can hammer the broken stud off and try to install the new stud on the hub while it is still on... one thing just double check that the new stud is the same size or it might work itself loose... not a good thing also make sure the hole where the old stud came off is not warped... other than that you should be good

I had my old lower ball joints pressed out and my new ones in the other day at a auto parts store and it cost me $10. i think you can probably get this done for that price or a little bit more.
