ok i bought this 91 4 door civic for my cousin for $400 bucks running. Well on the way home it was over heating, found a leak on a hose on the intake mani so i fixed it well now the car sounds and runs like its on 2 cylinders and all the coolant (5 gallons) is coming out of the exaust in the back of the car. What could be causing this ?

Also while the car is on i pulled the spark plug wires off one at a time to see what would happen and cylinder 3 and 4 had no effect.

fixed my problem !!!!!!!!!!!! here are the results

blown head gasket
cracked exaust manifold
water in oil

i replaced head gasket, drained oil, put extra manifold on that i had and the car works great but now im throwing a code 6 so i need to replace my etc sensor.

wow, that must be a sick headgasket leak.

 

5 gallons of coolant,lol-ok
Def blown head gasket at least.(Now you and the mad scientist have to take the motor apart,lol).If it got that hot and you decide to fix it don't forget to send the head out and have it checked out.Wish you luck on it.

cool thanks for the help im taking the head off today ill let ya'll know. also yeah i didnt want to let it get that hot but i was on the highway and said expletive it id rather just make it to a gas station with light, and worst come to worst ill just go to the junk yard and buy a whole engine for $200-$300 rather than mess with this one if its more than the head gasket
