Odd oil/headgasket problem?
k heres the story...was installing turbo on my dohc zc and i came across one sparkplug with oil covering the threads..figured valve seals but watever..finished install and then drove with a basemap setup for 8psi about 10 miles..i soon found that my blowoff valve wasnt hooked up correctly..but no biggie cuz i never realy entered boost..never even full throttled it..so i hooked it up and then drove it down street..at about 3.5k rpm smoke blew from exhaust..bluish/white..figured headgasket but was bluish..so i took all sparkplugs out and now all were covered in oil..so i was like wtF? so i did all new valve seals...same problem..now when i say smoke coming from exhuast..i mean a constant whitish/blue..so i pulled head and am now going to do headgaskt..turns out oil was blowing past headgasket around the oil channles..enough to soak the headbolts in oil..now question is..is this normal or is something wrong..and wat makes it even more interesting is that there is some liquid oil hangin in my hot side of turbo and downpipe...so mabye a turbo seal to? anyone have similar headgaskt failure there and if so did headgasket replacing fix the problem? any info would be greatly appreciated..!
Usually, blue smoke means pistons rings. The oil is going from the oil pan, past the pistons and into the combustion chamber.
Now that you have the head off, try and move the pistons side to side or up and down. The pistons should not move.

hmm..k will do..but do you think turbo seal is shot? turbo is brand new and i dont think seal would give way that fast..by sayin i have ventilation issues do you mean like excessive oil pressure or massive blowbly?
the pressure in your crankcase is off the charts probably...

that was an awesome thread...and now i think i narowed it down to 2 things...the sound i thought was my blow-off valve is actualy compressor surge...so now im gona look at my bov to see if its functioning properly..could this explain why i have oil on hot side of turbo? ( charge piping on other side is super clean ) and as for crank pressure im thinkin bout installing a catch can..if hondas stock can is clogged i guess that could explain some things..thx
Also, think turbo seal would blow after entering boost so little?
