Default Built motor question.... ls-t then later going lsvtec-t?

Hey guys just trying to find out the best way to budget my money... .i was thinking about building up the bottom end of an ls engine, while pretty much keeping the head stock, the reason being is that in future i want to go with a ls-vtec combo...

now my question is...

if i put

forged internals (rod, pistons and if i sleeve it or bore it out)

will i still be able to add a vtec head later and still use these same parts?

can i use the same chrome pro fmu? and tune with it aswell? what are the problems with doing this? will the turbo setup fit the same after a vtec conversion?

basically if i build the bottom end for a future project but build the turbo to fit the ls... will it still work with the lsvtec in the future? And what kind of problems am i looking at when i try to add the vtec head?

thanks in advance for ANY help you guys can give me thanks!!!

As far as the bottom end. it wont matter if you keep it LS head or VTEC head later. The pistons and rods will still be compatible with the rest of the setup. The only thing that will change will be the compression ratio since you are using a different head, but its very minimal change. Its less than half a point on compression change.

Make sure you are using a GSR/ITR oil pump on the block build NOW so if you do the VTEC head later, you'll have the proper oil pump for VTEC to function well
