Default Tuning Sohc vs Dohc

What would you do tune a sohc vtec motor you allready have or transplant a B16
I own a 96 Civic Coupe with sohc vtec

hmm, gee. . .let me think. . .can you say. . .SWAP! Go with the B16. . . not unless you plan on dropping a turbo on that SOHC. . .even then, I would still go with the B16. . . I would rather start with a more powerful engine. . .then tune the DOHC

Just my opinion though, I am sure there are plenty of people out there that have SOHC with turbos that could smoke a DOHC.

Transplant a B18C1......best bang for the buck.

just asked that question to a shop that does just that, transplants.

i have a 93 sol si sohc they recommended a transplant which would cost with labor just over $3000.00 ...but to me, using this car as a daily driver, adding a turbo and ~50 hp, for around 1000-1500.00 seems a more likely solution.

i agree with just building a single over head cam for daily, its cheaper. If you pay someone to do a swap, you are looking at 3 to 4 thousand dollars if you want it done RIGHT.
