All depends on miles/condition of the engine. I would rather piece together a turbo kit though.

Why are you going super? To be different?

Turbo lag is a myth if you get the right turbo. Just don't get a turbo that's made for Diesel trucks and you'll be fine.

the motor has about 80k on it n i wanted the supercharger cuz it seems like there's less modifications needed n less fixing than with a turbo

Not necessarily true. IMO I think superchargers are more difficult to work with. You ha e less options. A super-charger is belt driven so it's always on and making the same boost. Problem is, if you want more power you'll have to change the belts. Turbos can be made to work with boost controllers and have plenty of engine saving devices like a turbo timer and an intercooler.

either way it's boost. Just minor differences. 99% of civic drivers go turbo, why re-invent the wheel?

If you really want to you can upgrade the Throttle body. get titanium internals. Basically rebuild the head.

But for under 12 lbs stock internals will do just fine. Don't worry

btw, i recomend piecing one together or finding a cheap but good $800 kit on ebay. Just make sure parts are cast. When any parts go you can replace them with quality parts one at a time.

Tuning will be your friend too.

u wouldnt have to mod the motor unless u really want to be safe and most turbo guys have there stock motors turboed around 5-12psi but there is a guy named turbo_y8 on here with a stock d16z6 and hes runin 23psi @375whp and his motor survived a spike of 29psi makeing 425whp on a STOCK MOTOR!!!! craziest thing ive ever heard

Yeah, I heard about a guy running a B16 on 40psi and stock internals. Not sure if it was a hoax or not though. There was a video floating around on H-T awhile back with it dragging.

Just be sure to get it tuned, stay away from Fuel Management Units
chipped ECU (Uperdata or CROME etc..) is the proper way

Dont listen to half the guys. You can run 100 lbs of boost on stock internals, as long as you don't go over the maximum whp the engine can handle. I am not sure what is it for thid particular motor, but around 220whp. Yes there are people making over 300whp on stock internals, but then it becomes unreliable.

It's very funny how with a turbo an engine can break so easily without the proper tune but on the other hand it's so durable. What do I mean by durable? Awhile back (maybe 2 - 4 months) there was a video floating around H-T called like "D15B2 abuse" or something like that. They took this engine, slammed the rev limiter, drove through puddles as hard as they could to try and get it to hydrolock, ran it w/o coolant or oil. They beat the **** outta this engine to kill and it took a surprisingly long amount of time.

Funny when you think of that vs one bad tune in a turbo setup could easily = thrown rod...
