Default HELP! 94 GS-R problems, URGENT!

hey guys, basically my 94 GS-R is making some weird ******* noises, it seems to be coming from the engine, it's like a knocking almost I guess you could call it, but not like just single knocks, more like a rattling i guess, I honestly have no clue wtf it could be, I was told 2 of the valves are off but i don't know if valves can be so off that they can make such a ******* noise. My knowledge of cars btw is pure ****. About a month ago I took it to a shop and they told me that the vtec gasket needed to be done and that the cam plug needed to be replaced, the car also had a new timing belt put in about a month ago as well as some other things like MSD ignition wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, also as a side note when vtec opens up the second time one of my sparkplug wires usually just pops out. The point is I have to drive the car home this weekend and don't know if it's safe to drive. The check engine light is not on though and the car has 140K miles on it. Also I raced a few weeks ago with a friend for fun, and accidentally hit the rev limiter, not too hard though, I also think that the spark plug wire popped off at the top of second gear and I didn't notice it until we were done.

CLIFFS: car making a knocking/rattling noise, seems to be coming from engine, CEL is not on

I would appreciate any advice from you guys, thanks in advance, I would search but have no idea what to search for

OMG that is a funny post. VTEC gasket..LMFAO. You probably just need a valve adjustment. And if no cel's are on, u should be fine to drive it.

Wow.... You could have bent the 2 valves when you hit the rev limiter.

Hitting the rev limiter shouldn't bend valves. The shop that installed the timing belt most likely did not adjust your valves properly. Have the valves adjusted and perform a compression check to provide peace of mind.

What do you meant the spark plug wire pops out? Does it snap firmly to the cap and plug?

I didn't even get a valve adjustment at the shop, so they're still off as they have been for a while and they just kind of tick, basically engine runs noisy, but this new sound I'm talking about is just plain strange. Yea I didn't even hit the rev limiter hard, so hopefully my valves aren't bent, that would suck.

The spark plug wire literally just pops off when vtec opens up the second time, the wires are pushed in there as far as they will go, it doesn't pop off where it's attached to the sparkplugs, but on the other end

How long has it been since they have been replaced? The black finalic distributor cap doesnt last forever, sometimes alot of corrosion will build up on the parts where the wires connect to the cap, hence not having as good of a connection and falling off. I would pull off a wire and see if there is alot of white stuff on the spot on the black finalic cap. If there is, it needs to be replaced.

It also doesnt make sense why it falls off only when the secondary butterflys open (the 2nd loud noise you hear at about 5700 rpm). im confused on that.

And ur valves probably arent bent. Im 99% sure on this. As long as you didnt missshift ( going from 4th to 3rd or from 2nd to 1st while redlining) for why you hit rev limiter, you will be fine.

^what he said--also, are you running 93 octane? If you try to run 87, sometimes they'll ping.

I know this may sound stupid, but my 92 gsr was doing that (spark plug wire popping out of the head). It ended up being my spark plug came loose somehow. Check that your plugs are snug (screwed in all the way) and not loose. The higher rpm's could be blowing the plug out with all the pressure.. Just a suggestion.
