Default Best High Rev mods

what are the best supporting mods to be able to rev high safely

reason i'm asking is because i might be getting a chippd ecu that will allow my car to rev alot higher than it can stand.

i won't be reving high all the time on purpose just want to be safe in case i miss a gear or so on.

i have a USDM GSR basically stock.

any help won't be greatly appreciated

The ability to make power in the high rev range I think would be the most important of all factors. Theres not much of a point to take it beyond where the power curve starts to taper off. Find out where your car makes power and rev accordingly.

well i'm swapping ecu's with someone to benefit him

and his old ECU revs to 9500 i know for sure my car can't handle me missing a gear and getting anywhere near 9500

so i wanna prevent the early death of my motor by getting supporting mods that make it so the engine can handle being revved that high

so you want to put in forged rods, new bearings, good valvesprings, and a good breather setup only so your motor can handle the RPM limit of the ECU your are using?

normally you build the ECU around the engine not build an engine around the ECU...

only reason i'm getting the ECU is to help someone out
i didn't intentionally get the ECU to build the motor around

1. Drive better

2. Get a MSD ignition set up and set your limiter at whatever you feel is right for your car.

It's commendable that you want to help your buddy, but you might be better off loaning him some money instead of losing the correct ECU for your car. Your engine as it sits would not survive a missed shift going to 9500 RPM. I have the rev-limiter set for 9200 on my fully built motor.
