Am I getting taken to the bank?
So after my displeasure w/ the LX civic, I went to the dealer and decided I just had to have an SI. The testdrive was too nice. I figured I could get a faster car for the same price, but there are NO mazda dealers around here (or else I would be all over the ms3), but I like the honda quality.
Anyways, they offered me 14ish thouand for mine (I just bought it a month ago for 18+ taxes), but I got a private offer of 17600, so I will do that if I do the trade. But now the dealer is trying to get me to pay 24,900, no haggling, nothing thrown in, for a non-navi no summer tires civic. Looks like that is high to me, do you all agree? If this is an unrealistic price then the SI is out of my future, I dont want to be traveling hours when something goes wrong w/ my SI so I can take it to the dealer I bought it from.
Any advice? And did any of you guys haggle the price? They woudlnt budge on the LX either, saying they are too popular in demand, but the SI has been sitting there for almost a month now.

I would have to say no your not getting taken to the bank. Why? Where I reside the si starts at 28,000 with no options (no foglights, no navi, no lip kit, no nothing). I paid 27,500 for mine. But then again I dont live in the continental U.S. either.

This says it all here. You are being ripped if you take the 24,900 with nothing else.
You are paying so damn much because you are rolling in negative equity into the deal, which is a bad idea. You should pay the principal down more before you try to purchase another vehicle.

Well my LX is 100% paid off. I paid with a check when I bought it, after taxes, registration, ect. it came out to be $19,600. Probably worst decision I ever made. I didnt think about how boring a 4 door auto civic would be until about a week after the new car excitement died.
I talked to the dealer again, she said they could take $200 off the total since I was somewhat of a regular customer. Gee, thanks. We bought my son a used accord a few years ago, my daughter a used jetta they had at the dealer, my wife drives a 2000 oddyssey, and I just bought a civic. You would think they could cut me a break. If they dont knock a few thousand off I will just be shopping around. Its 24,900, no summer tires, no navi, before taxes. Ill pass

honestly,
i would sell your car privately.... get the $
and purchase an si used... this would keep your losses down, and put you behind the wheel of something u wanted

In a word, yes. you are being taken to the bank. I bought my 06 Si with summer tires for 19740. That's without tax title and doc fee. Which I seriously doubt is 5k. I didn't have any of the bells and whistles either. Hope this helps a bit.
Unbefuckinglievable. 19,700 for an SI? My LX came out to be 19,600 after everything. So your basically driving a car for a 1000 more than me, and they are trying to get me to pay ~7000 more for it here. Would you mind giving me the dealer name and state?
I have to ask this now.. Is it a pain in the *** buying a car in a diff state? If i can pick up an SI for 5-6000 less than here, I might have to go on a roadtrip.

Sure man, the dealer I got mine from was Autofair Honda in Manchester, NH. It's about an hour from Boston. Here's their website: http://honda.autofair.com/inde...tions
I didn't see any Si's. But I did see an 06 LX for 17,860.

PSH! thats what I got mine for when they were being inflated with prices back during the 06 craze..... now an SI should be easy to obtain for MSRP.

that sounds about right for an si, if it is out the door. i paid 20,800 for mine and then after u add on ttl/extended warrties/etc with no navi or additional options it was around 24k. if u are that serious about it, im actually thinking about selling mine so i can save money. my car note is 420 a month and im not too happy with that. my sig shows what it has done to it. if u are serious about getting one, lemme know. my car has right at about 5500 miles and was broken in properly
Shoot me an email at makemyexistence@yahoo.com if you want to talk prices and such over. Im all ears =P
And it was 24,900 before ANYTHING. So add taxes, registration, plates, etc and its a lot more than 25.

i bought mine fully loaded HFP, 8 disc, sun roof visor ( for sale), tinting mirror, hell all those dumb option for 26k out the door. basically msrp with all the options. its hard to say just talk to them. ask the guy if he wants the sell or his partner..
