Alright I'm building a test pipe of sorts, and what I'm planning
to do is run stainless steal pipe from the end of the cat. to a
custom hanger right at the rear axle, with a dampaner then a muffler.
Any who, the flanges that I need to weld to the pipe, to bolt to the
cat.. where do I get them? and If anone has an exhaust diagram
for a 2001 accord v6 ( good quality please)I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks,
M
just to let you know if you do this you will get a check engine light you will not be able to run above 4-5000 rpms and you will no longer have vtec unless of course you get a device that simulates a properly working o2 sensor...

NoNoNo, I'm bolting the pipe up to the exiting end of the cat.,
so I still have both o2 sensors..hmm with that out of the way,
can you answer my question???
Just a side note, do you realy like your v6?

ok I was confused because a test pipe is a peice of pipe that goes in place of the catilitic convertor. You are describing a cat back exhuast. An exhaust shop should have the flanges you need to make the exhaust still have the bolt up capability. Either that or you could scavenge the ones off of the stock exhaust if you want to. So let me get this totally straight you want to make a completly straight exhuast exiting out of the center of the car correct?
P.S. I am pritty happy with my V6 Accord, I do need to get some more stuff done to it but I am trying to save up to move out ATM so funds are short. Who knows I might get rid of it for an insight just to try and save money on both insurance and gas.
??
[edit]Also just to note that the Greddy exhuast made major gains all through the power band with 2.36" piping. Maybe Misa can give some speculation on this but I am wondering what would happen to the low end if one went to 2.5" or 2.75" exhaust piping. The only reason I say 2.75" is because I know the 2.2 and 2.3L accord engines work good with 2.5 so I am wondering if the 3.0L V6 could bennifit from the extra as well. Although then again I dont know how big the outlet on the y pipe comming out of the headers is, or how big the catilitic convertor is as well

sorry, you are correct (I'm confused
)
any way yea I want it to come not all the way out,
but just to the rear section of my car. so that you could
see no exhaust from any side..by the way, is'nt the thing
just before where the :gimp *** : y split is a sound reducer?
I figured I'd put one just before the muffler, so it dosent sound to bad...
p.s. yea I gues we'll hafto find out...

Ok from my understanding and looking at the car the Accord V6 has 3 yes 3 seperate mufflers. One of the mufflers is mounted infront of the rear axle and the other 2 are obvious where they are. Then there is the resonator as well. If I were you I would get a resonator and then a high flow muffler that can hopefully fit in the space where the stock resonator and muffler went. As for the piping I dont know if your car will pass your states inspection without a pipe going all the way to the rear of the vehicle because the exhaust can be sucked back into the vehicle if you are not carful and it will kill you...
