Extended Wheel Stud Install
I have a set of ARP wheel studs on the way. I know it cannot be too difficult to install these but does anybody know of a good how-to that will explain the process to me or can somebody explain it to me? Do I need a press or anything?
Looking forward to getting them on and running with some spacers up front for the last couple track days this year.
thanks.

I didn't think that needed to be mentioned.
If you can't figure that part out, then I really don't know what to say.

i think hes referring to some of the civic duders that can tap out thier old studs and tap in new ones without pulling the hub.

Thanks for the replies guys. I certainly want to do it myself and have ne worry pulling things off teh car and putting them back on again. My main concern was whether or not I woould need a special tool, like a press or something. Is that the case?
If it is jsut a matter of pulling things off then I will grab the Helms and have at it...

It depends on how long the extended studs are. From experience, if they are 10mm longer, you don't need to remove the hub. You can slide them into place at an angle.

Jonathan, you really need to press the stud in OR you can use a lug to press it in for you. While you are in there, it would be a great time to remove the brake dust shields.

Brake dust shields are by those who drive their cars on the track, as their removal allows the rotors to dissipate heat better.

Has anyone on here installed ARP's up front without pulling/pressing the hub? Some "elite" people say it can be done... who has done it.
My ITR suspension is apart, ARP's are right in front of me. Go at the knuckle with my grinder?

I replaced 2 studs on my civic front hubs without taking the hub off. there was JUST BARELY enough room to do it. just took off the wheels, dust shields, and tapped out the old broken stud, and tapped in the new and used a lug to pull it in the rest of the way a little at a time.

Ok, well if you're talking OEM studs, I'm not. It plays a big part in the equation. Stockers are easy to do without pulling a hub (front). ARP's are like, twice the length. Were yours ARP's?
