my boy is selling me a tranny for a $100. its for my 97 ex but i cant tell if the tranny he gave me is for my car. i wanna make sure b4 i try to install it so i dont waste my time. he says its from a ZC motor. do they have the same gearing as and ex?

on the tranny there are some numbers: S20 then some serial numbers and J8B next to the barcode that is on the clutch housing or trany housing which ever it might be. and P20 right under that same barcode.

someone help me out?????

 

Is it a Cable tranny!!!! I thought the ZC's were!!!!! You might be buying a tranny that isn't compatable with your chasis!!!!

 

The Honda dealer maybe able to help you.

 

that is wat he is saying.....it is a hydro tranny though. there are bolt holes for where the clutch release cylinder mounts up.

 

how many times do i have to post this...there is a hydro ZC from the factory!

thanks man......called them up and they ran the vin code. its from a 95 dx......

 

S20 trannys are from 92-95 Civics. Now even if dealer ran the bar code, 95% of the time it is WRONG. Give me the full code that is cast into the tranny near the fill bolt and I can tell you if it is a EX/Si or DX/CX/VX.

the ZC tegs are cable so it has to be from a civic they are S20's but the gear ratio depends on the modle it came from if your going 60 mph and its at almost 4000 then you have a EX tranny if its around 3000 then you have a DX CX tranny
