actually...if this guy owns a 1992 CX, DX and picks up a SI/EX engine harness, he won't have to wire anything up either. All 1992 non-vtec model civics (hatchbacks-as far as I know) all have vtec wiring embedded in the underdash--to-chassiss harness..

yup. If you have a 92, your lucky. it already has the wiring. I put a b18c1 motor in my 92 VX. easy as hell.(wiring is easy I mean)

I payed $2800 for my complete swap, which is a desent price. There are gsr motors on ebay, but watch out there. a lot of people on there try to fool you. Do a lot of searching around. thats what I did. remember to ask the guy for papers with the motor, if he doesn't the motor might be hot.
just a little advise to you, and DO RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!

well, i took a risk and bought the gsr motor off ebay.
I was lucky i guess. my motor runs good. He did send me a bogus distributor, and screwed up shiftlinkage. But i got a new distributor, and new shiftlinkage. so its all good. Take a look on ebay. Do some checks on the guy selling you the motor, talk to him on the phone. Make sure its not some kid trying to sell dads motor and earn some money.
Make sure the ebay member has good feedback, and if he sold motors before, thats always good. you can check up on the guys he sold the motors to already. There are a couple of companys in canada selling motor on ebay. they are good. Or try to find someone on here selling their motor. good luck, and welcome to the journey of building a hybrid

decent motor. maybe watch out here. doesn't asy what actally comes with it. what he doesn't say, probably doesn't come with the motor.
its the right year motor. 1995. its right year becasue the ECU will be obd-1, which is what you want on a 92 civic.
you can get a newer gsr motor, but always look for this year ecu. you can run a 97 gsr motor in your 92 civic, with a obd-1 gsr ecu.
good luck!

Pay a little extra and get it from Larry Jr. at http://www.importautosalvage.com
He has by far the best swaps I've ever seen. And his prices aren't outrageous either. Believe me it's worth it in the longrun. If you buy a shady swap, you WILL be paying an extra 300 or so dollars for "missing" parts. Trust me
