did a code check on my 2000 civic it gave me a long lite then went out for a few seconds then 8 short blinks it that 18 or 10 and 8 and also what could it be new sensor or what thankx

 

seems like 8 and 10

8 TDC - top dead centre sensor

10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor

 

long is the first number, the short is the second number.

One long and 8 short is 18.

 

i had a code 22 tonight and the shorter blinks for the 2 was right after the long ones, he said he had a few seconds where it went out so i think it's 2 seperate codes, i dont think there's even a code 18

 

there is a code 18 from what iv seen on some of the ecu code charts and it is a ect engine coolant tempature sensor high voltage so i need to eliminate these codes either 18 or 10 and 8 what does the high voltage mean on code 18 and if it is 10 and 8 is the tdc sensor in the distributor or on the block any way to test these sensors so that i may elimintate them. i took out my air temp sensor one time for like 3 months cuz there wasnt a spot in my intake tube for it and i never got a code for it. hmm thanks for all your responses guys
