I already have a 94' si head

ONE: is there any difference between the si and the EX head?

TWO: does anyone have either for sell ? My buddy wants a mini-me too.

THREE: Does anyone have an aftermarket cam for that head 4 Turbo or NOS?

 

they both are the same.. different valve covers from 92-3...

 

the 92-95 sohc vtec si (d16z6) stock is 127 hp, and the 96-00 sohc vtec ex (d16y8) is 130 hp i believe. besides the fact that the d16y8 head is newer and a little higher compression, if you want to stay with your stock ECU, the CRX Si distributor will bolt onto the y8 head without problem.

D16z6 heads are the same fer si and EX all around....but if you could score on a d16Y8 head you would luck out due to the came change and combustion chamber difference between the 92-95 and 96-99 SOHC VTEC's (later year SOHC a lil peppier) also the Y8 head bolts right up to EF SOHC distributors.

oh yeah...'bout the cams....Jg engine dynamics makes customs grinds or preset grinds they made up. What ever you prefer..Also ZEX makes a nitrous cam....GUDE, CRANE CAMS, Skunk 2 (just came out), and CROWER all have different bumpsticks fer the Single cammers out there.....so research those dudes...yur bound to find the cam you want.

Also heads i have are mint...came from the honda dealership I work at..no problems....valve covers and...you know how customers are..."i want my head changed...the engine is noisy.....im still under warranty...give me a new head for free" geez....

I paid 225 for mine shipped, 94' si head 30,000 miles and new valve seats... I was just looking for one for a friend. And was asking if anyone had a cam for sale, I know those companies make them, I'm just not all about paying almost 300 bucks after shipping for one...

 

I thought the D16Z6 was from 92-96 EX & SI and the D16Y8 was from 97-2000 EX?

 

D16Z6 = 92 to 95 Civic Ex/Si (OBD1)
D16Y8 = 96 to 00 Civic Ex/Lx (OBD2)
