Oil leak under engine

Hi All,
I have recently done an oil change on my car and notice some oil leaking under the engine, it is above the oil filter. I had asked a few of my friends and they think its the oil pan gasket seal, but I wanted to get some feedback before I go ahead and fix it.
Thanks.

You may not have made a good seal with the filter to the block. I never do this but you are supposed to take some oil and spread it around the rim on the oil filter before you put the filter on. I would clean everything off and then look for your leak. From what you are saying I don't see why the oil pan gasket is leaking if you say it's from above the oil filter. Just think about what you have changed with the car. If it didn't leak before the oil change then you have good chances it's related to something you did wrong with the oil change. That's not to say that some seal blew or popped out ironically at the same time because it does happen. Good luck.
