Default Fuel Pump wiring

Hey guys,
i just replaced my stock fuel pump with this new Walbro 255 HP fuel pump....now i even got this relay kit to power this pump from the alternator with 14.2-14.7v from alternator instead of the stock wiring that powers the pump with 12v, so i can pump more fuel anyway the kit has its own wiring and it seems better than stock (bigger gauge and better insulation too compared to stock)....well so i decided to take out the power wire where the fuel tank is which is yellow/green wire going to the pump from the the stock clip, BUT i cant figure out how to remove!!!! tried a flat small screw driver (tiny one), small allen key, small pin and the thing doesnt seem want to come out....well am trying to take the old wire out cause i dont want to solder on top of the stock wires and give the pump power on different gauge wiring....anyway what did u guys do? did you put a new complete wire to the pump? if yes how did you release that wire? if not how far should i splice from the clip THATS if i have no other choice?

thanks,
Km

Its pretty simple to do. You did remove that plastic retainer thing on the plug right? The one that holds the connectors in there. Also, you are pulling the wire the right way aren't you? I can't remember which way it comes out right now though.

ok the plug is disconnected from the scoket, the plastic retainer piece in there is aside too and i usually pull in the direction of the wire (so from teh back of the connector)...i know it should go out like that it needs to be pinched with a pin/small screw driver, but i tried all of that!
well i tried pusshing/pulling the wire and still nothing!

Yeah, you're doing it right. You're just not hitting the right spot. I just did one right now.

I pushed the retainer thing down from the front of the connector, on the crimp side, not the flat side. Snap on picks work pretty good. Good luck.

finally i got it out....lock clip holding the crimped clip was rusty for some reason even though the manufacter ani-corrision grease was still there!...hehe....i did it in a funny way i had to cut the hole clip of the harness to get some access for cleaning and used a vice to hold the clip down.....i was suprized such a small thing made me use so much force and energy...i guess this is one of these strange occasions
