Default Jdm D15b timing

Well I was finally sick of trying to figure out why my car wouldn't go past 6500rpms so I started going through everything, fuel spark and such. Finally figuring out that my timing was a tooth and a half advanced some how. So I set my crank to TDC and the cam to TDC and came up with the fact that my timing is always a half a tooth off. I am using the VX timing belt with my set up. Is this wrong? what should I do. As of right now i'm sitting at 5 degrees advanced on my cam when it's supposed to be 0 degrees.

you have a cam gear right? so pull it back out with the cam gear if you can, i have the same engine i was told the vx timing belt would work also, it does work as i changed my belt before i put my motor in everything works great!! i would take the belt of and line everything up again and see what i came up with

is every thing at TDC on yours because with the VX belt on mine it's 5 Degrees advanced no matter what. The timing is always a half tooth off. Yeah it runs fine but its not TDC
