driver's side brake pad stuck
my driver's side exterior pad is against the rotor at all times. My braking system feels all stiff as well and really doesnt brake very well at all. also, when i turn to the left and start up, I can hear the pad squeaking. how do i remove it off of the rotor into its normal position?
if anything is stuck, its probably your caliper, but you are gonna have to take it apart.
-jack up the front drivers side, take off the tire.
-open the master cylinder to relieve the pressure in the brake lines.
-remover the top bolt, and loosen the bottom bolt on the caliper.
-use a screwdriver and slip it between the pad and rotor, just a little bit to get the pad away from the rotor, it may not be necessary.
-now you should be able to rotate the caliper off the rotor.
-now check it all out and figure out whats wrong.
* you'll have to remove a fastener on the brake line to rotate the caliper all the way down.
