megan headers on stock exhaust?
hey guys, i am about to order meagan headers for my d16y7, i have a few questions before i do so, i am going to have to run straight pipes, no cat for about 2 months, no big-deal, but what about my o2 sensors, will they fit on the d16y8 headers, or will i have to lengthen mine? and also, will this bolt up to my stock 96 cx exhaust, or will it have to be shorten/lengthened? and if there is anything else you guys can think of that will pose a problem please share it, thanks guys

if you're ordering the right header for your car everything should fit, though meagan headers aren't my type, theses are all question you can ask the rep when you place your order.
also trying searching, all type of header question have been answered numerous of times.

i understand, but i have searched, this header is the "correct" header, but not really, i have a d16y7, not a d16y8, so the catalytic converter will be eliminated, so in order to be legal i would have to get custom exhaust

in order to be legal? ummm...maybe you haven't noticed, if this is strictly a track car then removing the cat is illegal.

thats exactly what i was saying, i didn't ask that in a form of a question if you go back and read, i was stating that to be legal, i will have to get a custom exhaust

i think he just misunderstood what your asking. if you use the megan header on your stock y7 exhaust you will have to have a cat placed underneath the car where it would be located as if it was on a y8 exhaust. you could get a flange welded on and then put the cat down there and extend the wires the the secondary o2 sensor. but it might just be easier to find someone selling their factor y8 exhaust and cat.

my the megan header for a y8. Get a factory spec/ or oem y8 cat, and that way there will be no custom one off exahaust where you can change things around down the road. oh and just extend your secondary O2 sensor wires
