Default timing service connector

i bought a 91crx hf with a b18b1 motor and i went to set the timing and when i jumped the service connector i noticed no change in idle or anything like it did nothing and then i forgot to take the paperclip out and drove it like that...and it drove normal....does anybody know where the wires lead from the clip....like to the ecu or what?....cuz i know ive jumped the connectors in the past and you can definately notice a change....is it safe to just put the dizzy in the middle...is that close? any help would be appreciated..... thanks

Your good, your timing should be close to specs.

is it normal to be able to drive around with the connector jumped and notice no difference at all?

Get a Helms manual, then you will know all. helmsinc.com

...

there is a connector behind the glovebox that you jumper when setting the time.

I assume it is to keep the ecu from reacting to your adjustments, but I havent seen a difference.
