Belt tensioner and cam specs
For a b16 can you acces the bolt on the tensioner with out taking off the plastic covering and the cover that goes over the cams to hold it in place it says to only torque it to 18 ft lbs but that just dont sound right does any one know?
The d16a6, sohc and dohc zc's all have a small round plug that fits into the plastic cover to cover up the tensioner bolt. I'd only assume the b16 has one as well. Just pop it out before you drop the motor in and your good to go. As for the cam cover 18lb sounds right.
so i dont have to take off the all of the plastic to loosen the tension on the belt...alright thanks but I tryed turning it maybe I didnt turn it enough
it shouldnt be on too tight. there was a post awhile back when someone wrenched on it hard and it snapped
