The word "better" is not descriptive enough. Thats like saying which is better: paper or plastic? Better for what situation? What goal?

personally, i don't like 4-1, cause you start with 4 pipes, and then your trying to ram all that air into 1 hole, 4-2-1 lets it flow better, thats why they say you can gain more bottom end torque off them.... hope this helps you

i have a 4-2-1 one piece dc sports header

im running 4-2-1 headers because i have no cat and i am going to run buddyclub spec II exhaust and its going to make me lose low end power so thats why i bought 4-2-1 for torque.

4-1 is for power like top end.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by guero2craze &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">which one is better?</TD></TR></TABLE>

There are high-quality 4-1 headers that will outperform some 4-2-1 headers across the entire RPM range, just as there are high-quality 4-2-1 headers that will outperform some 4-1 headers across the entire RPM range. Determine your budget and your goals, then chose the best header that fits within those parameters, rather than simply relying upon "4-1 vs. 4-2-1".

For the street, a 4-1 is not the best choice. Don't be this guy:

4-1 = top end + clearance issues.

4-2-1 headers will generally give you more low-end power

4-1 will generally give you more high end power

the 4-1 often have ground clearance issues, thats why I dont have one on my car because is slammed
