if you don't have 98+honda/acura, go to installdr.com and buy the adapter harness.

Alright.. As stated above, it does look like a 98+ reverse harness will plug into the top unit. However, you're going to need to find the jumper cable that attaches the slave unit to the main tuner module... That is probably going to be the tricky part...

just go to ebay or installdr and get the slave cable that connect the top to the bottom unit.

i have the slave unit cable, problem is the 98 + integra cable is only 16 pins, my unit has 20 pins, plus they're not all the same size (the outer ones are bigger).

i don't know what to tell you. but they only make 1 (One) harness and that's made specifically for 1998+ models honda & acura. Or else they would have make 2 different one wouldn't they?

Gathers is JDM. Someone correct me if I am wrong but doesn't/didn't Alpine make the Gathers units in Japan.

I have done a few Type Rs and they have all had the same plug as the rest of the tegs, this unit may have had an off board amp and the plug your missing is the jumper that went between the HU and the amp and the amp has the Honda/Acura plug on it, that would account for the extra pins, [power and ground for amp], although the HU also has a heat sink so I would assume it also has an amp built in. 94
