Default how much to lower?

i want to lower my car so the top of the tire is even with the top of the wheel well.

i will be running kyb agx all around with ground control coilovers on a 1995 acura integra ls.

what are the pros and cons to having the car lowered 3+ inches?
what parts could break or go bad or wear out faster?

thank you

--anyone with this setup, how low are you.. what did you do?

Pros:
Looks

Cons:
Minimal shock travel
Reduced handling characteristics
Most likely uncorrectable camber issues
Rubbing
The shocks probably can't handle a drop that low for very long
Stressed axle joints

I have Koni Yellows and GC's and I am only an inch lower than stock height. Function over form for me.

I have Tokico Illuminas shocks with Tein S-Tech springs. My car is about 2 inches lower all around. You do have to worry about scrape'n on alot of things and watch out for pot-holes, rail-road tracks etc....I have an Ingalls front & rear camber kit and I have virtually no wear on my tires and various suspension parts....I would think 3 would be fine, but the lower you go, the more likely you are are end the life of your shocks sooner.

i dont mind the rubbing, or really even the uneven treadwear from negative camber.

im really more concerned with:
-transmission components(differential)
-axles breaking, boots cracking open
-gas mileage? would lowering your car any amount affect gas mileage for the worse?

im planning on aligning the car tomorrow, a full 4 wheel alignment..
and once i save the cash, im looking for front and rear camber kits.

should/would anything change besides having negative camber, such as toe(in/out), caster.

i have the kyb agx setting on 1-softest up front and 2-second softest in the rear..
and the ground control coils are all the way down for now.. im thinking of raising the front coils up 3/8" and the rear coils up 1/2"..

my car seems to have decreased gas mileage and it seems to drive uneasy, or wobbly around 35mph to about 60mph and then its smooth again.. lowering/alignment issue?

im really looking for someone who knows alot about suspension and lowering, etc. because i need this problem solved.

helpppp! thanks guys

feel free to post pics of your ride and your setups.. im interested and pics of mine will be up when the car is more complete.. and aligned, etc haha

dont buy a rear camber kit just use washers, and dont ask how to use washers to adjust camber do a search.

its amazing once you are really low how crappy the ride feels. Sometimes I go almost all the way down, and then i go up just a little bit(1/2) inch, it feels so much better with more shock travel. Also, you may mess up your axles faster, as well as the inside of your tires from bad camber

ok ill try to answer some of your questions. transmissions have nothing to do with lowering your car so dont worry about that. axles and boots however are now probably not at the optimum angle and could get worn out prematurely. just remember though that plenty of people run slammed (including me) and have no problems. treadwear really isnt even an issue if your toe setting is correct, camber has little to do with uneven treadwear. oh and about gas mileage, the only way i could see lowering your car causing bad gas mileage is if your alignment is that far off. the alignment should take care of your uneasy feeling between 30-65mph as well. hope this helped

That does not look like a 3" drop. Measure from the center of the wheel to the fender and post that. Stock height is 14" in the front, 14.25" in the rear.
