Is it possible to buy CDN headlights and wire daytime running lights for the non-CDN cars? I think that would be a very nice and usable mod.
1. Start car.
2. Turn the **** on the left steering column stalk to the second click (headlights).
3. Drive around.
There ya go, DRLs.

I personally find it ugly but you gotta do what you gotta do

:snicker:
That's what I do - just run with my headlights on. I do this with all my vehicles, just for that extra measure of visibility.
But IPD does sell a kit for Volvos. Might be universal - give 'em a holler.

Might be I am weird but I hate the day-time runner light that comes with our car. Correct me if I am wrong but I think you just have to plug in the fuse for DRL in the fuse box and it should be on.

Well, if I do what your suggesting the rear tail lights will also be on.

i wouldn't keep them on. I want control of when I want them on. It's a good idea, but I like not having them on unless it's necessary.

THe USDM headlights do not have the bulb and socket for it.
And if your goal for having DRL's is being more visible to other drivers, why wouldn't you want your corner lamps on as well?

IPD DRL kit - $28
Turning your lights on during the day - free

Huh? You mean those crazy Canadians found room in a four-eyed Integra for an extra socket and bulb?? If I'm not mistaken, DRL's are simply your high beams running on reduced power. Am I wrong about Integras?

Splat I believe that you are correct. DRL's are highbeams with reduced power..
Thank you. I kept having visions of that six-eyed spider-looking Type R y

there is info on the net somewhere, I think I found it thru temple of vtec in the civic link section. I'll see fi I can find it, but it was a hot-to on using a GM kit.

DRL turn on automatically w/o corner lamps, tail lights, and they don't even dim your console/gauges!
I always liked em, but not worth the hassle...

Help others to see you better.
I never understood why some people are against this...but that is just me

to me, I guess I feel like they were running at full power (DRL). But i guess they don't
Now I know. I dunno. My whole reasoning behind that was it doesn't look good during the day. Granted it helps safety wise but I figure people should know when to turn on the lights and not turn on the lights. Then again, they run at lower power. So I dunno.

My only problem with DRL's (now that many cars in the US have them standard), is the jackasses who drive around at late dusk/night with only DRL's on. You'd think folks would be a hair smarter than that, but I know that's giving way too much credit to the average driver
Pat, who took the idea of DRL and expanded it to include all his lights
[edit] A resistor box that looks like this, perhaps?

Wish some bored soul out there would call IPD and see if these are universal or not [/edit]
