Default b16a or b18c1 head for build which is better??

Ive heard the b16a has more air flow.. I just bought a b18c1 long block.. but i have a b16a complete with me right now.. I was thinking about putting the jdm b16 head on my gsr block.. But Im going to build it first..
Any recommendations o which head i should build.. by the way Im not porting it..

gsr head has a better valve movment i think(more at a 90 degree angle that b16a i think)
also it will raise your compression over the b16 head

but gsr cool.. that will be easier to sell my b16 complete with a b16a head on it rather then a gsr.. awesome thanks..

the only diff is the combustion chambers and the bolt pattern on the intake manifold side. '

gsr raises your compression .2

harder to find manifolds for gsr heads from time to time, not too much of an issue anymore

there are the facts, make your own decision.

that doesn't sound right ....... a ported b16 head made less power then a stock gsr??????
sounds like he might hve had a bad port job

oh dear.. we're in for a lot of debate now!!

GSR intake ports are bit different than b16 not only the bolt pattern

I prefer b16 for the wide array of intake manifold avail and most intake mani's are designed for a b16 and later fitted for a gsr. besides b16 heads are pretty easy to get a hold of since they've been around longer.

gsr has more compression of the bat because of the pentroof design.

as said some find the valve positioning better, especially for extreme porting

b16 heads are more common/cheaper, so if it breaks you'll wont have to change parts.

but i would take the gsr head in combination with the b16 piston and end up with a nice comp. for future mild building (cams, springs, retainers, boltons and a nice 200whp )
