d16y8 head(mini me)
i didn't get an answer on the FI forum so i figured i'd ask you guys since i know some of u run turbo applications, if i have a zc 1.6 block and a d16y8 vtec head and ecu(mini me) which greddy turbo kit would i need to get the one for a 92-95 honda? or the one for the 96-00, i'm guessing the 96-00 since thats what my ecu and vtec comes from, can you guys confirm this? or will either work well?
and for the n00bs that say that you can't put a sohc head on a dohc D block. zc's also came in sohc form.
get one for a z6. but you're going to have troubles with the z6/y8 head issue.

its not a dohc block, its an sohc block. and why would i have issues with the y8 head if i have the harness and ecu? either way the question was about putting a turbo on it. which kit i should use.
Mainly when you pick up premade kits its for the chassis due to pipping and such. Intake manifolds (stock) all end up in the same area (except for the y7 and d17s). But yea go for your chassis. Get whichever kit you could afford.
sorry to bring this post up back up but luserkid, what about the emanage blue box? i would be afraid it might mess with my car since its obd2 and i'm not sure if the emanage would be made for an obd1? thanks in advance.

So you have a 92-95 car right? Are you running the y8 with obd I? I don't see a huge difference between my 92 hatch, and my 98 four door as for engine bay area. With that being said though, i can run the same manifolds on all my d-series heads. So, as long as your obd I, i would get the 92-95 kit. vtec should work the same regardless of what obd you are. I haven't had any issues with my y8's in my obd I 92 hatchback. Plus then all your piping should be right for sure.
