Default Cutout questions??

Ok I want to buy a cutout for my LS/V but i want to know where a good place to place it would be? one of my buddies was telling me about how i need back pressure and to not put it right before the cat but he wasn't really making sense so i would like to kno about that also.

agreed how ever i have placed them approx 12" after header pointed towards pass rear tire so i can run a 2.5" exhaust pipe and dump it in front of the tire .... however if you are running a catalytic convertor then you def want the cutout before that .

thanks so it would be good to put it right after my downpipe but before my cat and have it connected to my exhaust piece that connects my downpipe to the rest of my exhaust
