hey theres a gas i went to a gas station around my house and they had a pump that siad E85 ethanol, those anybody knows what kind of fuel this is, is it racing fuel???

 

its an alternative fuel that is made up of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. it isnt intended to be used as race fuel as far as i know, although it dose suposedly have a higher octane rating...

 

There is a pretty big article on it floating around here somewhere...do a search it should show some decent amount of info.

Funny thing about this fuel is that its supposed to be the aid to high gas prices and all, but since the fuel needs to be ran at a lower AFR, I would actually like to see if the extra consumption is worth it when you can run normal gasoline at a leaner state.

 

yes, i saw that at a gas station back home...only problem was it wasn't that much cheaper than regular gas around there. Seeing as how 93 octane is now only 2.49

north-east am in grand rapids MI, hers where i saw the E85 in a local gas station!!
