Default help!!!! dripping oil out of flywheel cover

i did the auto to man swap, and i leak oil out of the flywheel cover. is there supposed to be a gaskey or something that goes between the trans and the cover? there wasnt one when i took it from the junkyard. or is it the trans got over filled?? i just put 2 quarts into it in the inspection hole until it ran out like the manual said. any ideas??

That's the only thing it could be if it's actually leaking from the flywheel cover. There's nothing else in the bell housing of the transmission that would leak. Other possibilities are one of the axles not being fully seated or you may have overfilled the transmission and caused it to weep from the fill bolt.

things happen when you do changes on an old car.The rear main will only leak while the motor is running.

It's not hard...it's more or less a pain in the ***. Tranny needs to come off, oil pan needs to come off. Honestly, I'd look at the seals above the tranny before going into the tranny. My seal to block of a manual fuel pump cracked and was pissing so much oil on my clutch that it oil soaked it.
