92 DX Starts for 20 seconds and dies
I can start the car over and over with the same result: It will idle sort of choppy and die very quickly. I can prolong it only for a very seconds by very gently feathering the throttle but it still dies quickly. Full throttle it totally dies. Also there is some black smoke back firing out the intake.
I am hoping the problem is the MAP sensor. I have reason to believe its the MAP because this past weekend I took the throttle body off to clean it and ran out of carb cleaner in the process. Like an idiot I grabbed some brake cleaner and finished the job; this is with the TPS and MAP sensor still in.
I am going to have access to the car tomorrow which is sitting at my work and I'm going to pull the codes to see what it says. Thanks for your help in advance

Sounds more like your timing off. Did you happen to take your plug wires out? Maybe they didn't get to the right homes. That would cause choppiness. Does it backfire at all?
I have used brake cleaner to clean throttle bodies and Intake manifolds on my cars before with no problems after many miles.
What else did you do to your car at this time?

Thanks for the response.
I did not touch the wires. I just made sure they were on good and tight right after this problem began. It does not backfire out the exhuast, just the intake a little.

I just went to try and pull the codes, I have 2 grey connectors in that rubber boot thing. But my colors differ from the FAQ on this page. The 2 pin connector is green with white stripe and the other is solid brown. I used a paperclip to jump these 2 pins but I did not see any CELs flashing with the key to on, engine off.
I have a working MAP sensor but i need some vice grips to get the stubborn, factory screws off of the original one. Im gonna try to find some before I leave here (my work). Thanks for all the input.

A little trick you can use if you haven't comp stripped the screw head out is to apply a dab of valve grinding compound to the tip of your screw driver for more bite.
So I go out to mess with the car and it will not start at all now, and it sounds dry on fuel when im cranking it. Got a gallon of fuel in her and she fired up like a Honda should. My gauge was reading above E and the car was starting so I didn't think I was out of fuel. I guess she was runnning on air
I stripped the screws on the MAP sensor too haha. Anyway thanks for all your help guys! Sorry I wasted your time
