Default Someone please check out this pic of my piston.

I pulled off the head today to fix a blown head gasket, which I thought was my only problem. Take a look at cyl 1. What do you guys think happened?

Well i hav a very untrained eye but what exactly are we looking at or looking for? (and yes i know its a piston...) Is the piston a little crooked?

There's a gap between the piston and cylinder. I can actually see past the piston a little, the top ring looks like it might be broken. The sleeve also looked like it had scoring on it, but it can't be felt.

u need to remove the piston now it probably melted/cracked ringlands if theirs a gap. did the motor sound like a subaru and smoke a lot?

Yeah exactly. There was a lot of white smoke, which had me believing I blew a head gasket. I checked the gasket, and it looked fine. I think overboosting caused it because I checked my car after and the line to the wg had been cut by touching my manifold.

The sleeve ovaled out. . Time for a new block/sleeves
