what kind of freon goes into a 95 GSR ac system?
i know there are two types, one really old and one a newer type in newer cars. im pretty sure that the 95 GSR's have the newer one (134 i think). can anyone confirm this?
thanks

No 3rd gen Teg uses freon (R12). They all use R134a refrigerant (there should be a sticker on the radiaotr support to confirm this). And since R134a isn't hazardous to the environment, I think you can just buy a couple cans of the stuff and recharge it yourself.
you can buy the kits anywhere
get one of them that has the gauge that'll show you the pressure in the system. I released all of the 134a before I put new stuff in there.. it held about 12 ounces.

awesome, thats what i thought i wasnt clear on the matter, thanks a lot.
btw, if this refrigerant were to come in contact with skin or other body parts like mouth or eye, would this be harmful? i know freon could pretty much kill you but what about this?
thanks for the replies

Yeah, it's harmful, but not as harmful as R12. Just don't come into contact with it. Not to mention it's very cold and you can hurt yourself. If you do somehow come into contact with it, which would happen if you had no common sense, you shouldn't be playing with it at all. Be safe!
