Default Walbro 255 install

ok so i got my long awaited 255 today, pulled the old one out and installed the new one, i noticed as i was installing the to was backwards, the plug was on the inside and the fuel line was on the outside, 180 of the stock, so i said on whatever and installed it anyways since it said it was for my car, put it in started the car, ran fine but as soon as i got in to the drive off it was leaning out real bad and no getting fuel, pulled the pump out to double check everything and it was hot as hell, i couldnt even hold the pump with my bare hands, so is this a defective pump or what?

Just buy a real walbro , sometimes its better to spend that lil extra money to make sure you feel good about what you put into your ride.
