Default EGR Issues, Running out of options

First off, I searched......

Background:
Had an H23, Started throwing a CEL 12 = EGR Failure......
92 SI w/ JDM H22 Swap and USDM ECU

Swapped in a JDM H22 (not to try and fix the cel, but to get a better engine )
Still Throwing a Cell.

Took out the EGR Valve and cleaned it, put it back in, still throws the cell. I thought that maybe the lift sensor was bad so I replaced the whole thing with a working one.

Still throwing the cell.

Checked all the vacuums Lines and they are clear/leak free,

Went over above the Wheel Well and check the vacuums control thing and the EGR Solenoid.

The vacuums control thing was fine, air went one way like it is suppose to.

As for the EGR solenoid, I hooked up my air compressor to it and blew through the inlets a few times and all this white powder kept coming out. I blew through till it stopped and am still throwing a cell....

I’m almost sure that it is the control solenoid but I just wanted to make sure, am I missing anything to check before I go ahead and get a new solenoid...

any thoughts?

if all your vac is good, start playing with your fluke (multi-meter)

also just to be sure, spray around with carb cleanner, with engine running. to be sure of vac leaks

To reset your ecu you have to either pull your radio fuse or what I do is just disconnect my battery for 30sec or so.

It sound like you havn't reset your ecu to me.

again, i know you have to do that for OBD2, but the CEL does not stay on after i turn the car off, I have OBD1...... i have to drive around for a while for the cel to come on....

but then again, i could be wrong, ill pull the fuse and see.......

I am ODB1 and in the HELMS it says you have to pull the fuse. OR Disconnect your battery. If you disconnect your battery your guaranteed it is reset.

my car (92 prelude with a H22A swap) used to throw 3 codes
01-O2 sensor
12 EGR
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
I tried many times to clean the EGR as far as stuffing 1/4 can of SEAFOAM down the port and drive around until all the smoke clear, the code would come back after few days. I was about to take off the whole intake manifold and do a real cleaning job of the EGR port and runners until I bought a chipped P28 running uberdata and all of my above codes are gone for good and the car rev up much faster and pull harder all the way to 9000 RPM REV limit. I can not wait to get it properly tuned.... So my advice to you is don't waste time or money to try all the cleanning method for EGR, save your money and buy a chipped P28 tunning with CROME or uberdata and you will not regret the money you spend also it will save you the frustration and headache as well... You can keep it as a last option but you would not want to waste the money for a EGR port and runner cleaning job anyway.

I played this game back and forth on my H22 Crx with the p13 ecu and EGR system my car even came with the EGR from the factory and CEL would only come on when I bogged it on purpose or not giving it enough gas going up a hill...I would need to turn off the car and then turn it back on and no code...I did the whole nine yards cleaning etc. Did the sucking test/vacuum worked like it should...EGR is just something that needs to be eliminated on the H22A engines it's like cancer....
