Default a few problems

please bear with me because it is dark and have no pics....will post very soon though....

1st problem..
i had my a/c fixed about 2 months ago. condensor fan, recharged, the works....but now i think my compressor may be bad. is the entire unit expensive to replace? is it hard? also as soon as i press the a/c/ button it stresses out the engine. it starts to have kind of a wavy idle.

2nd problem...
my check engine light keeps coming on. but it's wierd, i think it may have something to do with the belt and the compressor and the amount of stress being made to try and turn it over. anyways. it only comes on a couple of minuets after i have started it and began to drive. it comes on when i deaccelerate (downshift) around 2500-3500 rpms. my car doesn't seem to be running wierd. although i do admit it is running a little on the rich side. andy ideas/suggestions?

3rd and final problem...
because i do not have a working a/c anymore i am having to rely on rolling my windows down...problem my passenger window will no longer roll down....before it was VERY EXTREMELY HARD to try and roll up....no problem rolling down, but today i think it finally gave. i tried to roll it up and the handle only continued to spin around....with no window going up....so i pulled of my door panel and tried to take a look at it. the only thing i can come up with is that where the handle is inserted, the little gear i guess in there is broke....again any suggestions?

again i will post pics VERY VERY SOON it's just night already and would not be worth it. also thanks.

1. The a/c system will put stress on the engine, for the idle i wouldn't know since i've never owned a EF with a/c.

2. Don't know...

3. ......

1. Don't know

2. Maybe your O2 Sensor it may be on the brink of being completely bad.

3. Your going to need to take the whole thing off and look at whats bothering the window track. I think your diagnosis is correct, but even if it is...you still should observe the track...I read somewhere that they need to always have grease on the gears that raise/lower your window.

1.They can run fairly high, it all depends on who you buy it from that's if you buy it new. I would look on Ebay.

2.Have you checked for any codes? Try pulling the trouble codes and see what it gives you. What makes you think your running rich?

3.That's what it sounds like. The track from the handle to the whole window unit could have loss some gears(or teeth), thats what it sounds like.

Codes can be found through your ECU's little glass window (literally) if you have a check engine light on....lift the carpet on the passengers side closer to the firewall and there is a plate of metal or aluminum...whatever...anyways that has a window with a blinking light; when you first turn the car on count how many times it blinks, when you count... make sure you do it more than once because ECU's will send out more than one series of blinks if there are more than one thing causing your check engine light to come on. If you don't have a window then you probably just have to take off the aluminum cover to see the light blinking.

Each number of blinks is a different error: you can find them here:

These can also be found in the FAQ's in the "Do It Yourself and Misc." Section.
